The Jacksons London jute bags are hand-woven by local women in south-west Bangladesh.
Not only beautiful handbags (fashion accessories) are created, no, this project also supports the women and their families at the same time. The income improves access to health and education for the women and their families.
Behind the brand The Jacksons London is costume designer Louise Jackson and former fashion PR Joe.
The two opened a small boutique in the Notting Hill district of London in 1998. Leather bags and shoes are also made here in their own workshop.
Thin jute yarn is used for knotting. The symbols and words are woven in dyed jute yarn. These traditional techniques have been passed down through the families of craftsmen for years.
The bag handles are so large that the bags can also be carried over the shoulder. The bag size is perfect for shopping at the weekly market, as a beach bag or tote bag for a stroll through town.
We keep a large selection of bags in stock.
