The fashion industry is also facing up to climate change. Vegan and recycled fabrics to use in jackets and coats!
Niko Vatheuer was already an old hand in the fashion industry before founding the Embassy of Bricks and Logs brand in 2015.
His newborn daughter and the new responsibility towards his child gave him the idea.
The result is oversize quilted jackets for winter, the lining of which is made from recycled, renewable materials, mostly from PET bottles.
Even the packaging is recyclable.
The small team consisting of Niko's wife Anna - a fashion photographer - and Eric Mirbach, founder and editor of the ethical fashion & lifestyle magazine Vegan Good Life.
Embassy of Bricks and Logs brings a high quality streetwear approach to the world of ethical fashion.
Fair and safe working conditions are a must!
Embassy of Bricks and Logs is a vegan brand, they work closely with the non-profit organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to ensure the entire collection is PETA approved as vegan.
For the faux down fill and padding, Embassy made their own “E100” material. It is 100% certified recycled PET from the world's oceans.
The mesh lining in Embassy coats is eco-tex certified. Other linings are made from 100% recycled polyester.
Sweat materials are 100% organic cotton, some (but not all) of the outer shells are signature blue.
Only high-quality YKK zips are used, which are certified according to the blue mark. All accessories (snap fasteners, zip pullers, eyelets and so on) are also bluesign products.
